Catch up time.

While writing the post on Calie I realized I have posted anything on the deer hunt or Halloween!! So here we go....
The deer hunt was so much fun! I ended up staying the whole time, which was not my plan to begin with. We started off the trip by riding the razor in Moab. I was scared half of the time!! Russ and Dallas loved every bit of it! After the razor ride we headed back to camp for the week. On the way back to camp Dallas decided to put gum on top of his head not realizing that it would get stuck, so as we are driving through a canyon I am hanging in the backseat cutting gum out of his hair with sewing scissors!! I laughed so hard thinking back on that. Anyways...Dallas had a blast playing with Rylee. The weather wasn't the greatest but when it was nice we were out in it!! Dallas loved playing in his jeep! He kept trying to jump it off a little rock. He was so fun to watch. Calie played in the walker while we were outside and got to play with Dallas toys inside! The kids did great!! We went into Moab a few times, once for groceries and once to go to arches national park.  The park was not as fun as I was hoping but with two babies in tow, it was as fun as it could have been. The drive was horribly long but worth it! I love making memories.

Halloween!!
This year Dallas was Spiderman and Calie was a cupcake! Dallas didn't really like the trunk or treat but he did love going door to door.  Calie was lucky enough to get a few pieces of candy, suckers mostly.  The best part of Halloween was that grandma and grandpa where here when Dallas woke up!! They got to visit for a few days which was not long enough!!Dallas adores his grandma Becky. He loved having her here, we all did!! He definitely did not like her leaving!

Oh no...

Oh no.... Calies crawling!! At 8 months old Calie is all over the place! She likes to crawl to Dallas, he has better toys. She is attempting the stairs but has not made it up yet, she usually tumbles over. She gets funnier every day. She has so much personality, everything makes her smile. Dr. Hafen says she is the perfect baby. 17lbs and 27.5 inches, 50 and 44%.  She still loves to eat, she will munch on anything and everything. She just got her 4th tooth in and loves to have me brush them!! I love that little stink!

End of Summer :(

I hate that summer is ending.  I love sitting outside watching Dallas play on everything!  Calie loves to sit and play on the grass.  We love being able to ride bikes, drive the jeep, jump on the tramp and play on the razor. Yepp you read that last one right, Play on the razor.  We were able to sell the Joyner, a few months ago.  We liked the Joyner, but we didn't love it.  We decided we wanted something better.  We  bought a 2012 Polaris Razor S.  We got an amazing deal on it!  We bought a back seat on it so Dallas and Calie can be strapped in and not just sitting on our laps.  Rusty is spoiled guy.

Dallas got a pet the other day.  2 goldfish, named Fish.  He was able to get a fish because he started going on the potty.  He has been doing great, he likes to go alone and loves when he praise him for his good work!    We have been working on potty training all summer and then one day it clicked.  He still has a hard time with #2, its a hit and miss on making it to the potty but #1 is mastered.  I think us going camping and letting him go whenever, where ever really helped.  He is silly.  He loves Calie, he is still pretty nice to her, however he does pick on her every now and then. He likes to take her toys and move them out of her reach.  Meany!  Dallas has been having some pretty scary nightmares.  I think they are night terrors,  he screams and cries but all while he is asleep. The first night it happened I didn't know what was going on and I ended up waking him up, which caused more screaming, crying and hitting!!  The next morning he had no idea what had happened.  Me on the other hand was still upset, I have never seen him like that.  It was the scariest thing I have ever seen.  He has had a few since then and after some research, I have starting his hugging him tight and laying him back down.  I usually lay next to him until he stops crying.

Calie is growing way to fast!! She is staring to move around in circles.  She rolls all over, which is making it nice for when Dallas steals her toys, she moves onto the next one.  She loves to eat!  I am surprised on what she will eat...  She loves riding in Dallas jeep, she even loves just watching him.  She loves being tickled and tossed in the air.  She loves Dallas cars and his dancing.  She likes being in her bouncer, she can reach the bottom now so she gets a spinning in it. We moved her into Dallas room.  I don't think she minds, she is still little and will sleep anywhere.

We are getting ready to go on the deer hunt this next week, I am getting nervous.  Camping for 10 days with 2 little kids,  good luck to us!!

Summer update!!

We love summer at our house. Dallas and Calie both love to be outside. We have been camping, fishing and swimming. We went to the parades, rodeo and the carnivals. Dallas is growing up so fast, he is turning into such a trouble maker and I'm hoping it is just a phase.  I mean he is still my sweet little boy, but man does he have an attitude!! We are still working on potty training, I'm ready to give up. :( He acts so interested some days and then nothing the next. He started going to swimming lessons or "swimmin slides" if you ask him, the first couple days were interesting but he loves it now!! Calie is such a good 4 month old!!! Can you believe 4 months!! She sleeps all night and giggles and plays all day. She is starting baby food and loves it.  She doesn't mind tummy time, unless you leave her too long, but now she rolls so she doesn't care. She loves her daddy, she can be screaming but if russ walks in its instant smiles. Her doctor says she is perfect, the ideal baby.

Baby Girl

Calie Ann Rowley was born on March 16th 2012. She was 6lbs 13oz and 19in. She has tons of dark brown hair. She loves to sleep, but doesn't love to eat. She is already a daddy's girl. Dallas loves her, he is very curious about her and loves to ask what she is doing. We decided to have a csection, which went wonderfully. The only down side is being at the hospital for so long. Poor Dallas thinks doctors cause big owies, but he is handling me being gone, of course it doesn't hurt that daddy is spoiling him. :)

yupp

Blah...
My posts are getting shorter and shorter and more and more pointless.  Whats new with us, lets see...

We moved. We love it. We are blessed.
Dallas is still undecided about the move.  Some days he is happy and calls it home, other times he tells me he wants to go home and when I tell him we are, he says no.  It breaks my heart seeing him upset.

Baby girl is coming on the 16th, unless I go naturally.  I have mixed feelings about both.  I still feel like I have a zillion things to do, but I know they will get done.  We are lucky enough to have so many people willing to help us, it makes me less nervous.  I am nervous for Dallas.  He has a lot on his plate right now, the move, a sister and grandma & grandpa moving.

Speaking of Dallas here are some funny things he has said lately, and maybe they are just funny to me, but they are cute.

(At the OBGYN office as the doctor is getting ready to check me)
Dallas: What ya doin?
Dr: Ummm
Dallas: What ya doing to mom?
Dr. Seeing if your sister is coming
Dallas: Oh ok. (climbs back on the chair to play angry birds)

Eating cereal in the kitchen alone...
Dallas"  Ugg Dallas why you not share? Share Jaxon, no me had it first, no you naughty, go time out. MOM!!
mom: yea buddy?(from the other room)
Dallas: What ya doing
mom: Getting ready for work, you?
Dallas: no go work today, play sandbox.

Grandma Becky: Dallas, what do the cows say when they are mooing?
Dallas: MOOO me HUNGRY!!

Dallas: Mom, candy? Not yet after dinner.
Mom: yepp after dinner
Dallas: No dinner, my belly full
Mom: you didnt eat yet. eat dinner first
Dallas: No me belly full candy now.

Anyway, to me he is hilarious.  He loves having his picture taken, playing with the cows and chickens, being in the sandbox and playing with other kids.  He loves to give hugs and kisses and pull funny faces.  He loves to "fight" and be a lion.  He is 100% boy!!

30 Weeks & Gallbladder

Wow. I feel like a haven't posted about this second pregnancy at all, kinda makes me feel bad.  I am already 30 weeks today.  This pregnancy is going by so fast!! I have had it pretty easy this pregnancy, no swelling and no high blood pressure, the two main "complications" with Dallas.  I had it easy until Jan. 7th, that was the first trip to labor & delivery...  which is were this story starts.

On Saturday night, right after dinner I got a horrible pain in my chest that radiated to my back.  I have had this pain before, I thought it was heartburn.  The pain was the same with Dallas.  Anyway...  The pain this time seemed worse, I couldn't sit or lay or even stand up straight.  I also started vomiting.  I took tums and walked around for about 20 minutes and I still couldn't get it to go away so I decided to go get my mom.  My original plan was to have her call my doctor and see if they could recommend anything that I could do, but my mom told me to just get in the car since they would most likely just tell me to go to labor & delivery.  So 5 minutes later we were heading out the door..

I'm going to interrupt my own story, because I am sure your wondering why my mom was taking me and not Russell, Russell was camping.  I had talked to him earlier and told him I had really bad heartburn, (which is common for me) and that I would talk to him later. He told me he was driving back to camp and wouldn't have phone service and that was the last I got to talk to him.

Anyway I felt like a dork for going all the way over there for heartburn but when I told her that's what I thought it was and where my pain was, she just smiled and said I am pretty sure its not heartburn but your gallbladder.  They put me in a room to monitor the baby and give me some meds for the pain. They ran my symptoms with the on call doctor and he agreed that it was most likely my gallbladder. After the morphine kicked in they sent me down to ultrasound to take a look.  She let me know that I had gallstones and she would send the findings back to labor and delivery for the doctor to decide what to do.  They told me that I needed to contact my doctor on Monday to get the name of a surgeon to determine what to do.  So fast forward to Tuesday when they told me the doctor I was meeting and when, which was that Wednesday.  While I was at the meeting with the surgeon I learned the risks of leaving the gallbladder in for the next 10 weeks or taking it out now.  It was a really tough decision for me.  To sum it up I could
1. Have the surgery as soon as Friday.  They don't usually like to operate in the 3rd trimester but the surgeon felt he had plenty of room to do it safely.  The risks were the same with having any surgery pregnant or not, the difference was that two of us were involved.  I also ran the risk of premature labor, which this surgeon said he has never had a patient go into labor, even the ones he does further along than me.  He felt good about the surgery because the stones hadn't tried moving, I am healthy and the gallbladder is not infected or inflamed.
2. Wait it out 10 weeks.  This ran the risk of me having another attack.  The stones could try to move which could result in more pain and that they could get lodged in other body parts which is not good!  I could also risk the gallbladder becoming infected and having to have surgery further along and at a higher risk.  If nothing happened I would be able to have them removed after I healed from birth.

I decided that I didn't want to risk it getting worse and decided to have surgery Friday morning.  My doctor felt really good about it and I had this feeling that it needed to be done.  I however kept going back to the thought of preterm labor.  I felt safer about it knowing that the baby was far enough along that she would be ok, and that they would have my doctor in the room and they would try to stop labor if it happened.  Then again the surgeon had never had it happen so the risk was low.

Friday morning my mom, dad, Russell and I headed to American Fork Hospital Out Patient Surgery.  The surgery went smoothly.  I did learn after that the stones had moved and were clumping together, something the surgeon thought I was low risk for, that was the reason I had the option to have surgery or not.  Anyway once I recovered down stairs they moved me up to labor & delivery so baby girl could be monitored.  Once we got there we did have a little scare because she seemed to be in distress and I was starting to have contractions.  I had one contraction and they had me lay on my side.  Once I turned over the baby calmed down and I didn't have anymore contractions, we were very lucky!!  The nurse said it was because I had been on my back for so long.  I had been flat since 7:30 and it was going on 10am.  I am home now and haven't been in too much pain.  Dallas has been great, we showed him the incisions and I think he really understands that I can't hold him or be played on.  He does come give me kisses and tells me I have owies
